The Georgia My Voter Page, or MVP, is the first stop for a DeKalb County voter checking an individual record. It is an authenticated self-lookup, not a browseable people directory. Enter all four identity fields exactly as they appear on the registration. Select DeKalb in the county list. A match opens election details tied to that voter, while a failed match may mean that a name, birth date, county, or recent update does not agree with the state record.

The form's design explains why it cannot be used to sweep through voter records by name alone. If the data still does not match, use the county office rather than trying guessed birth dates.
DeKalb County Voter Match Details
A successful voter registration match can show far more than a simple active or inactive flag. It can identify the registered county, polling location, precinct, congressional district, state legislative districts, County Commission district, school-board district, and other election assignments. MVP also links a sample ballot, elected officials, registration updates, election dates, and absentee application or ballot status tools. These results help a voter verify where and how to vote.

Georgia does not register voters by political party. Choosing a party ballot in an open primary does not turn the voter roll into a party-registration file. Ballot selections remain secret.
Note: A participation date proves only that a ballot was cast in that election, not how the voter marked it.
Georgia Voter Records and Privacy
The public list and MVP do not expose the same data in the same way. Georgia's official list may include a voter's name, residence address, a different mailing address, race, gender, registration date, last voting date, and active or inactive status. MVP uses a birth date to authenticate the search, but the distributed file excludes birth dates, phone numbers, Social Security numbers, and driver's-license or state-ID numbers.
Protected voter information. VoteSafe protects the home address of a qualifying survivor of family violence or stalking. Public-list access does not override that protection, and no one should try to uncover or publish a protected address.
The DeKalb registration office's VoteSafe information explains the local protection context. A protected voter receives substitute treatment rather than ordinary address exposure. The state list also withholds the sensitive identifiers named above.

Order DeKalb County Voter Rolls
A public voter list is a separate electronic product. The Georgia Secretary of State order page supplies the current storefront and signed form. A DeKalb County list costs $70, while the statewide file costs $485. The requester chooses geography and whether the product contains active voters only or both active and inactive voters.
- Enter the requester or customer name, billing address, email, contact name, and telephone number. The form says not to use a P.O. box.
- Select the list type, DeKalb geography, and status choice. Municipality, district, or precinct details apply when that narrower product is ordered.
- Calculate the listed price, certify compliance with the statutory limits, sign and date the form, and follow the check or money-order directions.
- Receive the electronic file by email. County lists use CSV; statewide data uses the stated text format.
The state storefront says one-week processing with no rush service or refunds. The older PDF says normal delivery takes one to two weeks after payment. Keep both published estimates in mind rather than treating either as a guarantee.

The signed certification matters. O.C.G.A. § 21-2-225(c) bars commercial use of the list, and O.C.G.A. § 21-2-601 makes a violation a misdemeanor.
Inactive DeKalb Voter Registration Records
Inactive does not mean ineligible. An inactive Georgia voter may still vote and can return to active status by voting or updating the record. A no-contact confirmation often signals an address or contact-maintenance issue. In 2025, DeKalb reported that nearly 58,000 voters received a No Contact or no-activity notice and had 30 days to respond.
List maintenance may begin with National Change of Address data or election mail returned as undeliverable. An inactive entry can remain through two general-election cycles, about four years, before cancellation after notice and no response. Voting, an absentee request, a petition signature, a voter update, or a relevant driver-services transaction can show contact.
Can an inactive voter cast a ballot? Yes. The label does not by itself cancel voter registration. Confirm the current record through MVP or DeKalb election staff.
Update or Cancel DeKalb Voter Records
A voter or the family member of a deceased voter may use Georgia's signed cancellation or removal process under O.C.G.A. §§ 21-2-231 and 21-2-232. An online cancellation portal launched in July 2024, and a paper route remains. DeKalb says local processing may take one to two weeks and sends confirmation to the voter-registration mailing address.
A status correction and a cancellation are not the same act. Contact the DeKalb office when a record is merely out of date, when a voter has moved within the county, or when the registration information cannot be found. Use the formal removal route only when cancellation is intended.
Note: Never infer death, a move, or loss of voting rights from an old address or an inactive label alone.
Historical DeKalb County Voter Registers
Modern voter registration files are poor substitutes for historical poll books. For genealogy, ask the Georgia Archives and DeKalb Elections about poll lists, registration books, election returns, and microfilm by series and year. No stable official inventory gives exact DeKalb poll-book years, so staff confirmation is essential before a visit or copy request.
A historical register can place an ancestor in a precinct at a set time. It should be read with county boundaries in mind. DeKalb was created in 1822, Fulton County followed in 1853, and Atlanta annexations later shifted the right records jurisdiction. A missing modern match says nothing about a person's historical civic presence.
